Chemical TN - Tudca and NAC
Chemical TN - Tudca and NAC
Chemical TN - Tudca and NAC - We know what you are thinking that we just dropped one of the most complete Liver and Organ Support products on the market in the form of Chemical OD™. So why are we dropping another product that’s the main function is to essentially cleanse the liver? Well…Why not? Let's break it down Chemical TN™ – TUDCA together throughout this breakdown. †
TUDCA is used to treat cholestasis, a condition that occurs when the liver fails to convey bile to the duodenum. When liver bile acids are backed up in the body, soluble bile salts like TUDCA, UDCA, and others can counteract their toxicity. †
TUDCA has become a leading star in the functional medicine world because of the many potential benefits it provides, including support for the brain, liver, mitochondria, and cellular health. †
A natural bile acid derivative, tauroursodeoxycholic acid, or TUDCA, can be found naturally in the body. Traditional Chinese medicine has been using it for millennia to treat hepatic and biliary disorders. The bile salt we make in our bodies has a profound impact on many bodily functions, including the brain, kidneys, the eye, and more. †
TUDCA has been used by traditional Chinese medicine practitioners for thousands of years to treat “heat illnesses” such as fever, spasms, and vision problems, as well as improve a wide variety of other conditions. The plant is actually relatively new to the scientific spotlight, having only recently become the subject of a clinical study. †
HOW DOES BILE WORK?
Among the various organic molecules found in Bile are water, acids, and electrolytes. The primary component of bile is bile acids, which are necessary for the digestion and absorption of fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K. These acids also break down food and cholesterol and can destroy harmful bacteria. † [1]
The body eliminates waste, excretes cholesterol, and regulates metabolism with Bile. Around 500 mg of cholesterol is converted and eliminated from the body every day by bile acids. This process is known as hepatic synthesis. Through the duodenum [the first part of the small intestine beyond the stomach], bile is secreted from the liver and stored in the gallbladder. †
TUDCA is also produced by bacteria in your body.
The liver bile duct releases bile salts into your intestines. The bile salts are then metabolized by bacteria in your large intestine into ursodeoxycholic acid [UDCA]. In order to create TUDCA, it is conjugated to a taurine molecule. The whole process occurs naturally in the body and is aided by a healthy level of bile salts. † [2]
Healthy people produce very little TUDCA, recycling nearly 95% of their biliary salts through enterohepatic circulation, which has bile entering the intestines and returning to the liver via the portal vein. The process can be impaired by poor diet, liver dysfunction, and certain medications. †
UDCA AND TUDCA BILE SALTS: WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE?
Bile acids are derived from cholesterol in the liver. UDCA is conjugated with taurine to form TUDCA in the liver as bile acids circulate [via enterohepatic circulation]. This process prevents apoptosis [aka cell death] as well as endoplasmic reticulum [ER] stress. †
Tauroursodeoxycholic acid is referred to as TUDCA, while ursodeoxycholic acid is known as UDCA. UDCA is the more common form of bile salts, but they are both salts of bile. Intestinal microbiota [gut flora] make UDCA first when they make secondary bile acids. UDCA is metabolized in the lower intestine by binding to taurine to form TUDCA. † [3]
TUDCA is naturally produced by the body, but in very small amounts, since most of your bile salts are recycled and recirculated. You can further slow down your body’s natural production of TUDCA by:
- Yeast overgrowth, parasites, or harmful bacteria causing a dysbiosis of the microbiome†
- Excessive free radicals and a lack of antioxidants stress the liver†
- Chronic inflammation results†
- Dysregulation of the nervous system results from chronic stress†
- Problems with the gallbladder may also result†
- Disease that is particularly prevalent in the liver, kidneys, brain, intestines, and other organs that require TUDCA to be treated†
To support digestion and detoxification, TUDCA supplementation can be useful when the liver is incapable of producing adequate amounts of bile salts or when you wish to introduce fresh bile salts. †
COMMONLY STACKED/USED WITH N-ACETYL CYSTEINE [NAC]
The amino acid L-cysteine is the source of N-acetyl cysteine [NAC]. Amino acids are essential components of proteins. NAC has many medical uses. † [4]
MEDICAL USES FOR NAC
Antioxidants, such as N-acetyl cysteine, may play a role in preventing cancer. It treats acetaminophen [Tylenol] poisoning and is used by healthcare providers. It binds the poisonous forms of acetaminophen formed in the liver. † [5]
NAC HIGHLIGHTS
- Powerful Antioxidant Glutathione†
Its primary function is to produce antioxidants. The amino acid NAC, along with glutamine and glycine, is necessary to make and replenish glutathione. A major antioxidant in your body, glutathione helps neutralize free radicals that can harm your cells and tissues. † [6]
A healthy immune system and the ability to fight cellular damage depend on it. Scientists believe it may even help prolong life. †
Many other conditions caused by oxidative stress can also be treated by its antioxidant properties, including heart disease, infertility, and certain mental disorders. † [7]
- Detoxification to Prevent Kidney and Liver Damage†
- Improve Psychiatric Disorders & Addictive Behavior†
- May Help Relieve Respiratory Conditions†
- Boosts Focus and Brain Health†
- Improve Fertility in Both Mena and Women†
- Stabilize Blood Sugar†
- May Reduce Heart Disease by Preventing Oxidative Damage†
